The L236 Hypancistrus SY is a line-bred variant of the classic L236, known for its clean pattern contrast and sharp markings. This fish does not require driftwood in its diet and thrives on a meat-heavy regimen. Like other Hypancistrus species, it prefers stable, well-oxygenated water with minimal light and plenty of cover.
Feeding Habits
- Protein-Based Diet: Offer high-quality sinking carnivore pellets, frozen bloodworms, blackworms, brine shrimp, and other protein-rich foods.
- Supplemental Foods: Will accept occasional algae wafers or blanched vegetables, though these should not be the main diet component.
Feeding Tips:
- Feed after dark to align with nocturnal behavior.
- Ensure multiple hiding spots to reduce stress and support natural habits.
- Maintain excellent water quality with regular water changes and good filtration.

Dead on Arrival (DOA) Policy
In the rare case that your livestock arrives dead, we offer a fair and standard DOA policy.
To qualify for a credit, you must contact us within 2 hours of delivery. Claims made after this period will not be accepted.
When reporting a DOA, please provide a video and three clear photos of the fish in its unopened, sealed bag as originally packaged. Clear images are required for processing your claim.
Once approved, we will issue a credit for the fish (excluding shipping) toward a future purchase. If you wish to receive a replacement, shipping costs must be covered again, or we can hold the credit for a later order.
